Overview

Adoptions Together is seeking a Development Associate, who will be responsible for actively supporting the fundraising and communications activities of Adoptions Together. This includes but is not limited to assisting in the: annual appeal, major gift solicitation, grant writing, planned giving, strategic planning and event planning. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum two years of increasingly responsible fundraising experience with grant writing, events, communication and relationship building. Must have experience writing private foundation grants. Experience preferred in the child and family welfare community. Bachelor's degree required. 

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • A personable, friendly, charismatic and outgoing personality.
  • A true passion for fundraising, event planning, and outreach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with using a fundraising database.
  • Ability to showcase the agency in a professional manner internally and externally in the office with staff and visitors, as well as at events and out of office meetings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and grow existing and develop new donors and investors.
  • Ability to think and work independently, problem solve and prioritize.
  • Superior proficiency in Office 365 including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, OneDrive, SharePoint and Adobe Creative Cloud including: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

 Major Roles and Responsibilities

Grant Writing:  Research funding opportunities and partnerships, write and submit LOIs, contracts, bids and foundation proposals, and follow-up with funders' requests for all reports.

Event Planning: Build relationship pipelines for new potential investors. Keep track of all venue information, related contracts and other necessary paperwork.  Work closely with volunteer committees in planning events. 

Communications & Public Relations:  Assists with the creation of various communications such as the annual report, general PowerPoint presentations, executive correspondence, and speeches. Works closely with marketing team to provide content for development related activities.
