Adoptions Together is seeking a full-time Clinical Manager to supervise our clinical staff in DC and surrounding communities.  Our clinical model emphasizes the power of connection and relationships as a central part of healing in trauma and disrupted attachment.  The Clinical Manager will be a member of the strategic leadership group and will supervise our community outreach program in DC and carry a caseload of up to 5 therapy hours per week.  

The strongest candidate will be an LICSW licensed professional who is adoption competent, attachment-focused and trauma-informed and have management experience in a clinical setting providing talk and play therapy to children and families.  They will be a life-long learner who is passionate about excellent clinical services and connecting families to needed resources.

Adoptions Together offers a fun, flexible work environment that provides ongoing training and support to staff.  The appropriate candidate will receive training on any gaps in knowledge, and coaching and guidance around clinical supervision approach and style.

Overview

The Clinical Manager will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to 5-7 therapists (employees and contractors), providing clinical training as needed (1-2 times per month), and guiding the organization's clinical direction. The Clinical Manager will also supervise the community outreach team at the Permanency Family Center and help guide its programs. This position will be a member of the organization's strategic leadership group with a responsibility for reporting and other administrative tasks.

The Clinical Manager is a full-time position with full benefits and the opportunity to do some work remotely.  This role also requires a caseload of up to five clinical hours per week.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social work with clinical emphasis.
  • Licensed in the District of Columbia to provide independent clinical services and supervision to social workers and other professionals seeking clinical certification.
  • Experience providing therapy for children with histories of trauma, attachment disruptions, and involvement with the child welfare system.
  • One year of clinical supervisory experience in a therapeutic setting preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Possession of excellent clinical skills for direct services and supervision of other clinical staff.
  • Knowledge of adoption, foster care, trauma and attachment.
  • Experience providing a variety of therapies with individuals, children, and families.
  • Proven ability to accurately diagnose emotional and behavioral impairments, and to design, implement and improve treatment plans for clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to be comfortable and effective working with diverse populations of clients.
  • Knowledge of the standards and processes of effective clinical supervision and demonstrated ability to implement the same.
  • Highly organized and experienced with databases for client information, case notes, reporting, etc.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and agency colleagues.
  • Ability to think and work independently, prioritize and problem solve.
  • Certification as Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) supervisor preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work one weekday evening per week.

Additional Notes

Each employee is required to complete (and maintain as necessary) a physical exam to include a TB test, a criminal background check in identified jurisdictions, Child Protective Services Registries check in identified jurisdictions, and orientation training.  Local travel to various offices is required.
